Kamala Harris
Kamala Devi Harris is an American politician. Born on the 20th of October 1964, she was the 49th Vice President of the United States. Kamala Devi Harris is the first female vice president and the highest-ranking female politician in U.S. history, as well as the first African American and first Asian American vice president. As a member of the Democratic Party, she previously was the attorney general for California from 2011 to 2017 and also as an United States senator representing California from 2017 until 2021. Born in Oakland, California, Harris graduated from Howard University and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Harris started her career in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. Then, she was appointed by the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In 2003 she was elected as the city's district attorney. In 2010, Harris was appointed Attorney General of California. Harris was elected again in 2014. Harris was the junior United States Senator from California between 2017 to 2021. Harris beat Loretta Sanchez in the 2016 Senate election, becoming the 2nd African American woman and the first South Asian American to serve in the United States Senate. She was a senator who worked for healthcare and federal de-scheduling cannabis. A path to citizenship for undocumented migrants. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform.
